Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 1/8-1/14

It was a difficult week in the Lightning prospect system, but at least one player managed to shine through...

ECHL Game Day 1/15: Nailers at Chiefs

15 shots on goal?

WHE-2
JHN-1

Morgan Cey stopped 24 of 26 shots faced in the loss. Andrew Martens scored the lone Chiefs goal on the power play with assists from Zbynek Hrdel and Eric Przepiorka. The Chiefs were outshot 26-15 in the game as the Lightning minor league system continues to suffer from an organization-wide offensive power outage.

ECHL Game Night 1/12: Chiefs at Bombers

Morgan Cey has stood on his head more this season than the cast of Cirque du Soleil.

ECHL Game Day 1/7: Chiefs at Stingrays

7-2 seems like a popular score.

JHN-2
SC-7

Morgan Cey stopped 38 of 45 in the loss. Eric Przepiroka and Andre Deveaux had the Chiefs goals. Helpers went to Jean Desrochers, Ian MacLean, Adam Henrich and Andrew Martens.

Needless to say, no minor pro player is getting Prospect of the Week after this weekend.

ECHL Game Night 1/5: Chiefs at Gladiators

Morgan Cey had to face 70 shots tonight between regulation, overtime and the shootout. 70.

JHN-3
GWT-4 (SO)

Morgan Cey stopped 59 of 62 shots faced in overtime and regulation before allowing 2 of 8 penalty shot chances to take the shootout loss. Have mercy. Andre Deveaux led the Falcons with 2 goals and 1 assist while Radek Smolenak had 1 goal and 2 assists. Adam Henrich, Geoff Waugh and PJ Atherton had individual assists. Gwinnett tallied the tying goal on the power play with under 2 minutes to go in regulation to force overtime. Naturally, Gwinnett, being the organization and county in Georgia with the utmost of humility and class (that's sarcasm) did not give a single star in the game to a Johnstown player even though Deveaux and Smolenak had the game high in points and Cey stopped 59 shots. Considering the media pool for Gwinnett includes a certain massive Thrashers homer/online editor for HF, I'm not surprised.

Some good news from the night: Gerald Coleman is on the bus for this swing through the south and was in uniform as Cey's backup.
