One of the quiet success stories from this season continues...

ECHL Game Night 2/23: Chiefs at Nailers

Zbynek Hrdel shows a pulse.

Morgan Cey stopped 19 of 20 shots faced for the win. Bryan Nathe, Ben Wallace and Gus Katsuras each had 2 assists for the Chiefs. Johnstown's goals came from Zbynek Hrdel (power play), Radek Smolenak, Dimitri Tarabrin and Jean Desrochers (shorthanded). Hrdel extended his point streak now to 3 games after going the previous 10 games without a point. Maxime Boisclair and Stanislav Lascek had individual helpers in the game. Smolenak, Hrdel and Nathe were named the game's three stars.

ECHL Game Day 2/18: Titans at Chiefs

Adam Henrich is on fire.

JHN-3

Morgan Cey stopped 29 of 31 shots faced for the victory. [url=adam-Henrich once again led the way offensively with a pair of goals. Jean Desrochers had the game winning goal and individual helpers belonged to Ian MacLean, Maxime Boisclair, Zbynek Hrdel, Andrew Martens and PJ Atherton. Henrich, Desrochers and Cey were the game's three stars.

In six games since being returned to Johnstown from Springfield of the AHL, Henrich has 7 goals, 12 points and a +7 rating. Given the Falcons' offensive woes, at some point Henrich is probably going to earn another recall soon.

JHN-5

Morgan Cey, who has been awesome this year, stopped 39 of 41 shots faced for the win. The Chiefs were paced by veteran Jean Desrochers' 2 goals and Randy Rowe's 2 assists. Johnstown got their other goals from Eric Przepiorka (who in my mind has shaped up to be a keeper), Adam Henrich and John Adams. PJ Atherton, Ryan Gibbons, Maxime Boisclair, Dimitri Tarabrin and Geoff Waugh had individual helpers. Cey, Desrochers and Henrich were the game's three stars. Johnstown was actually outshot 41-21 in the contest.

The victory moves Johnstown back to .500 for the season at 20-20-4, 3 points back of 4th place Toledo.

Morgan Cey stopped 23 of 24 shots faced in the win. Someone break up Johnstown's checking line. Brandon Elliot stayed hot scoring his 10th goal of the season while Randy Rowe and Maxime Boisclair had the other Chiefs goals. Andrew Martens and John Adams had individual helpers.

A convincing win on the road against the first place team in the North Division is a strong strong signal the Chiefs have righted their ship and are ready to make a run toward the playoffs.
