Florida fell behind 1-0 early in the first period before rattling off four consecutive goals over the next nearly 40:00 of action, then outscored their hosts 4-2 in what time remained. The win helped the Everblades cushion their hold on second-place in the South Division and their current fifth-seed spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Florida now has a three-point lead with only a game in hand on South Carolina, so the combination of an Everblades win and a Road Warriors loss will ensure Florida doesn't lose any ground. Jesse Deckert, who stopped 22 of 25 shots in the match, bumped his record to 6-1-1. Not bad for a guy signed to a try-out contract. Dan Milan, who was out of the lineup the past few games, returned to action. Alex Hutchings and Pat Nagle remain with AHL Syracuse. Florida (36-22-11, 83 PTS), with just three games remaining in the regular season, will stick around to hit the Amway Center ice against Orlando (27-34-7, 61 PTS) again Wednesday night.

NHL Game Night: 3-26-13 Sabres at Lightning

Where's THAT been hiding the past 2 months.

Mathieu Garon got the victory. All the computers were on the fritz at the Forum, so I don't trust what's posted on

First Period
16:01 TB Stamkos (23), (St. Louis)

Second Period
08:15 TB St. Louis (8), (Purcell, Stamkos)(PP)

Third Period
16:52 BUF Leopold (2), (Foligno, Flynn)

Steven Stamkos, Martin St. Louis, and Keith Aulie were the game's three stars.

I can't remember the last time the Lightning controlled a game like that, start to finish. They were sharp defensively. They were poised. It's like, with the coaching change, a giant weight was lifted off their chests. It makes you anxious to see what will happen when Jon Cooper actually steps behind the bench.
