Game Day 10/2: Wolfpack at Falcons (Exhibition)

Today's game represents one last chance to impress for bubble players looking to avoid reassignment to Johnstown of the ECHL. Among the players possibly in danger of missing the cut are: Morgan Cey, Zbynek Hrdel, J.F. Soucy, Brandon Elliot, Gerald Coleman and Dennis Packard. On a personal note, I'm plunking down the $6 for B2 Network's cybercast. Pretty good quality thus far. Looks like Eklund starting with Coleman backing up. Game Day 10/2: Lightning at Panthers (Exhibition)

I'd rather have Luongo burn a performance like this in the preseason rather than when the bullets are real. Timo Helbling gets his last chance to impress today before the final cut. Lightning Prospects Have Strong Showing in 11th Superleague Tour

After a couple a down tours, the Lightning prospects stepped up in tour 11 of the Russian Superleague. Surprise prospect of the season Albert Vishnyakov led the way with Dynamo's final goal in a 3-0 victory over CSKA. The goal is Vishnyakov's 4th of the season and his 7 points in 11 games moves him past Alex Polushin into second place in scoring amongst Lightning Russian prospects. Polushin's Cherepovets club will finish the 11th tour tomorrow in a match against SKA St. Petersburg. Anton But assisted on a game opening Nik Ignatov goal as Yaroslavl tied Tver 2-2. Awaking from a long slumber, winger Nikita Alexeev assisted on a 3rd period goal to send Omsk to overtime where they eventually fell 2-1 to Kazan. Alexei Glukhov assisted on Valeri Zelepukin's game opening goal as Khimik defeated Nizhnekamsk 2-1.

Lightning's Finnish Goaltending Prospects Still Pouring It On

Fredrik Norrena and Linkopings improved their record to 3-0 today defeating MODO 1-0. Norrena made 18 saves for the shutout victory. Andreas Holmqvist again played on the fourth pairing for Linkopings. Meanwhile, in the SM-liiga, goaltender Karri Ramo turned in a masterful performance for HPK, which fell 2-1 in a shootout loss. Still, Ramo dazzled stopping 39 of 40 shots in regulation and the OT session to earn second star honors.
