Ivan Rachunek scored an unassisted 1st period goal today as Zlin defeated HC Chemopetrol 4-1 today in Czech Extraliga action. The point was the first of the season for Rachunek, a 2000 draft pick of the Lightning. Rachunek is also even in plus/minus rating with 14 penalty minutes through 8 games. Also in the Czech Republic, 2004 draft pick Jan Zapletal is scoreless through 3 games for Vsetin of the Extraliga. The former Regina Pat has an even rating with no penalty minutes thus far.

Alexei Glukhov assisted on Khimik's 4th goal today in a 6-5 loss to SKA St. Petersburg. The helper is just the second point of Glukhov's season. All other Lightning prospects went scoreless for this tour with one game to be played tomorrow between Lada Togliatti and Salavat Yulayev.

Chicoutimi Sagueneens right winger and 2005 Lightning fifth round pick Stanislav Lascek was named [url=http://www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index.php?page=232&id_nouvelle=801] QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week [/url] yesterday by the league. Lascek scored four goals while assisting on five others for a total of nine points in four games over the past week. Saturday, he scored a natural hattrick against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, which included a short-handed goal. Furthermore, while playing on a line with Sabres first rounder Marek Zagrapan, he scored one goal and one assist to help Chicoutimi defeat the Quebec Remparts 4-0 at the Georges-VÃ©zina Center.

"Taking less" in this case involves making $5,487.80 a game. No one will ever accuse young Mr. Rogers of being dumb.
