Hopefully the ship is righting itself. CLB-2 TB-4 Sean Burke stopped 22 of 24 for the win while the Lightning outshot Columbus 39-24 for the game. It was a very balanced effort from the offense with goals coming from the checking line and both of the team's scoring lines. Ryan Craig and Evgeny Artyukhin had assists on Tim Taylor's opening goal. Craig played 13:54 tonight and was +1 with 2 shots on goal, 1 hit and 2 takeaways. Evgeny Artyukhin, despite his helper, played just 4:45 and was +1 with 1 takeaway. Norm Milley played well in 4:28 of ice time with three shots on goal including an unsuccessful breakaway chance against Marc Denis. Paul Ranger led all Lightning prospects in ice time at 19:17 and was +1. Game sheet from NHL.com.

Now I'm angry. I realize Jay Feaster has had some things on his plate recently, but to allow the situation between the pipes in Springfield to continue to worsen is ridiculous. SPR-4 BIN-9 Gerald Coleman allowed 4 goals on 11 shots before being lifted. Brian Eklund didn't do any better allowing 5 goals on 25 shots. A transaction should've been made two weeks ago. Jonathan Boutin and Morgan Cey have played well in Johnstown and deserve the opportunity to try and do what Coleman and Eklund simply have not been doing for the past month. And while we're at it, why is this organization wasting time giving a PTO to John Adams (scratched tonight) while Gerard Dicaire and Mike Egener are down in Johnstown? The exhiled Chris Dingman scored his third goal as a Falcon tonight while Marek Kvapil, Zbynek Hrdel and Andre Deveaux added markers of their own. Doug O'Brien and Nick Tarnasky had helpers in the game. But it doesn't mean anything because the Falcons' goaltenders simply cannot keep the puck out of their net. Something must be done, and this should be a lesson to those who believe that having an experienced AHL starter is a waste of a roster spot. Chris Lawrence scored a power play goal half-way through the third period to lead the Mississauga Ice Dogs to a 3-2 win over Erie Wednesday night. The goal was Lawrence's seventh of the year and was his 10th point in 11 games with the Ice Dogs since being traded from Sault Ste. Marie. Lawrence was named the game's first star.
