HPK/Ilves Game Three
Submitted by pete on March 27, 2006 - 19:27HPK is on the brink of moving on to the Finnish semifinals. Both Karri Ramo and Tuukka Rask rode the pine today as HPK defeated Ilves 4-2 with Miika Wiikman once again between the pipes. HPK leads the best of seven series 3-0.

Game Day 3/26: Chiefs at Nailers

Gabe Winer stopped 39 of 46 in the loss. Adam Henrich got his 18th goal of the season and added an assist. Andre Deveaux added a power play goal for the Chiefs.

Game Day 3/26: Sound Tigers at Falcons

Jonathan Boutin stopped just 16 of 21 shots faced squandering a 41-21 shot advantage by the Falcons. With Doug O'Brien being recalled to Tampa, Mike Egener returned to the lineup after missing two games due to suspension. He was even with 4 penalty minutes. Marek Kvapil scored his 17th goal of the season and Jason Jaspers his 24th, both on the power play. Assists came from Rohloff, Blatny and Milley among Lightning properties.

NCAA Tournament Today: 3/26

In a mild upset, Maine defeated Michigan State to advance to the Frozen Four. Lightning defenseman prospect Mike Lundin had a power play assist and one shot on goal in the game. Maine will play the winner of the Wisconsin/Cornell game later tonight while North Dakota will square off with Boston College in the semifinal round.

Trib: O'Brien Expected to be Recalled
Submitted by pete on March 26, 2006 - 14:29The Tampa Tribune is reporting Doug O'Brien is expected to be recalled today from Springfield of the AHL. Defenseman Day Boyle missed much of last night's game with an ankle injury which is expected to keep him off the ice for at least a game or two.
