CHL Game Night: 3/2
Submitted by chad on March 3, 2007 - 00:31Brampton 3 @ Mississauga 5
The IceDogs snapped their 3-game losing streak, beating Brampton 5-3 at home. Chris Lawrence scored his 42nd goal of the year on the power play. He was also minus-1.
Owen Sound 3 @ Sarnia 7
Owen Sound outshot the Sting 43-27, including 19-6 in the third period, but the Attack could not win in Sarnia, falling 7-3. Marek Bartanus did not register a point and was minus-1 in the game.
Windsor 5 @ Erie 3
In a battle between the OHL's worst teams, the Spitfires beat Kevin Beech and the Otters 5-3 in Erie. Beech stopped 32 of 37 in the loss. Erie is now 12 points behind Windsor for second last.
Kelowna 4 @ Prince George 2
Although the Cougars are pretty much locked in 3rd in the B.C. Division, it's never good to lose to a team 21 points behind you in the standings in your own barn. Vladimir Mihalik tied for the team "lead" with a minus-3 rating for the night. He did not register a point.
Portland 5 @ Everett 2
Portland was 71, that's right, 71 points behind first place Everett in the standings entering Friday, yet the last-place Winterhawks soundly defeated the Silvertips 5-2 in Everett. Dane Crowley was scoreless and minus-2. Portland was beaten 9-1 by Spokane, who is one spot above them in the U.S. Division standings, earlier this week. The game between Portland and Everett featured a classic WHL brawl with 3 seconds left in the game with both goalies getting involved.
