Koshechkin stopped 34 of 37 shots in regulation and overtime and blanked the Czechs in the penalty shot session to record the shootout win. Sergey Mozyakin potted the winning marker in the shootout for the Russians.

Harju and lifelong teammate Linus Omark moved back up to Sweden's second line in the game, and Omark responded with 1 goal and 1 assist in the game. But, it was Jarkko Immonen's shootout goal that sealed the win for the Finns. With the victory, the Finns clinched the Channel One Cup despite a very pedestrian 1-0-2 record. Sweden finished last in the tournament with a 0-1-2 record.

Koshechkin dressed, but was the backup on Saturday for the Russians. Finland got a goal from Petri Kontiola with 7 seconds left in regulation to take the win. The centerman, ironically, is Koshechkin's teammate with Magnitogorsk of the KHL.

Harju played on the third line for Sweden in the game. Former NHLer Mattias Weinhandl scored the overtime winner for the Swedes. Weinhandl is Harju's teammate in the KHL with Dynamo Moscow.

Kazan sits in sixth in the standings in the KHL's Eastern Conference.
