The tournament is now over for the Russians, Slovakians, and Canadians. Team USA advances to face Switzerland on Saturday in one Semifinal match while co-host nations Sweden and Finland will square off in a rivalry match in the other Semifinal tilt.

Russia's win ties them with USA for first in their pool, but USA controls their own destiny with 1 more game left to play and Russia having completed their schedule. Slovakia desperately needs a win tomorrow against the US to hold onto 4th place in the pool.

Meanwhile, in the other pool, Canada holds a slim 1 point lead over Switzerland in the standings, but the Swiss control their own destiny with a game in hand. They draw Belarus in their final match of the Preliminary Round.
