Augusta failed in a comeback attempt in Charleston tonight against the South Carolina Stingrays. After falling behind 3-0, Augusta twice pulled within a goal before falling short 5-3 in their second game of the season. Lightning prospect netminder Riku Helenius again did not play, with Joel Martin stopping 33 of 38 shots. Kevin Quick, who started again tonight, was pointless and finished -1 with 2 shots.

Augusta drops its 2008-09 season opener to Tampa's former ECHL affiliate. Recently assigned goaltender Riku Helenius did not play. Joel Martin allowed 4 goals on only 18 shots. Kevin Quick, who started on the blueline paired with newly acquired defenseman Brock Wilson, was held pointless and -2 with 3 shots.

Former Lightning goaltending prospect Ryan Munce, who signed with Mississippi as a free agent, stopped 39 of 41 Augusta shots enroute to second star honors. Munce picks up where he left off last season as the Sea Wolves goalie. Augusta continues its season Saturday night on the road against the South Carolina Stingrays.

Quick Assigned to Augusta
Submitted by pete on October 6, 2008 - 13:23The Norfolk Admirals have announced another round of cuts, and defenseman Kevin Quick has been reassigned to Augusta of the ECHL.
Unsigned prospect Mitch Fadden remains on the team and is, perhaps, awaiting a contract.
Lightning Re-sign Picard; Announce Quick Signing
Submitted by chad on June 2, 2008 - 14:35(tampabaylightning.com) The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenseman Alexandre Picard and signed defenseman Kevin Quick, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced. Picard, acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers on February 25, signed a multi-year, one-way deal, while Quick received a multi-year, two-way contract.
Lightning Agree to Terms With Quick
Submitted by pete on June 1, 2008 - 22:08Lost between the cracks of the John Tortorella/Oren Koules fiasco, the Lightning have reached an agreement with defenseman prospect Kevin Quick on an entry level deal. The word broke Saturday on Erik Erlendsson's blog. Quick played 18 games for Norfolk of the AHL last season on an ATO contract after being dismissed from the University of Michigan.
