ECHL Game Weekend: Nov 30 - Dec 1

The Sea Wolves split a pair games on the road this weekend in Augusta and Charlotte, picking up the team's first road win of the season.

Radek Smolenak picks up the game-winner in the win against Charlotte on Saturday night as Ryan Munce stops 26 enroute to the victory. Brandon Elliott racked up fightning majors in back-to-back games giving three FMs in the three games, and Stan Lascek picked up a marker in Friday night's loss in Augusta.

ECHL Game Night: November 29, 2007

Sea Wolves winning streak ends as the Stingrays of South Carolina score three unanswered goals in the 3rd period. Radek Smolenak notches a marker while firing a team-high 7 shots, Brandon Elliott went toe-to-toe with Grant McNeill, and Ryan Munce stopped 50 shots while getting tough defending his crease in a penalty-filled third penalty.

ECHL Update: November 26, 2007

Hot on the heels of the Sea Wolves first win streak of the season, coinciding with the assignment of Ryan Munce and the return of Stan Lascek from pre-season injury, perhaps it's time to review the Lightning ECHL stats thus far:

F Radek Smolenak: 15gp; 5-7-12; -2; 10 PIM; 2 PPG
F Stanislav Lascek: 2gp; 2-3-5; +3; 2 PIM

ECHL Game Night 11/4: Texas @ Mississippi

Went to the fridge this morning to get some milk for my cereal, and saw Kvapil, Smolenak, and Hrdel's pictures on the side of the carton. I'm sure the Sea Wolves management must be going back through the team files to make sure they really did sign an affiliation agreement with the Lightning this summer. Perhaps it was just a bad dream.

After seven Mississippi games, I would considering posting the Lightning ECHL stats so far, if there were any stats to report. One word: pathetic. I can only apologize to the good fans of the Gulfport and Biloxi area. But my apologies certainly aren't going to help wins games unfortunately. But Kvapil and Smolenak could certainly help win games. Alas.

Mississippi now off to a 1-6 start after a 4-0 shutout by the Texas Wildcatters on Sunday.

Texas 4 @ Mississippi 0
F Marek Kvapil: 0-0-0; -1; 0 PIM; 0 SOG
F Radek Smolenak: 0-0-0; -1; 0 PIM; 3 SOG
F Zbynek Hrdel: 0-0-0; Even; 0 PIM; 0 SOG
F Brandon Elliott: 0-0-0; Even; 2 PIM (roughing); 0 SOG

Former Bolt goaltending prospect Morgan Cey stopped 31 of 35 shots enroute to his sixth loss of the season.

AHL Game Night 11/4: Admirals at Sound Tigers

Here's a sports announcerism: if you don't score you can't win.

NOR-0
BRI-3

Ryan Munce stopped 28 of 31 shots faced as the Admirals once again squandered a quality start by one of their netminders.

First Period
BRI Kinasewich, (1) (Regier), 18:04

Second Period
NO SCORING

Third Period
BRI Morency, (1) , 7:05
BRI Tambellini, (4) (Fata, Rullier), 17:50

It's a damned shame players like Marek Kvapil, Stanislav Lascek, and Radek Smolenak have been so disappointing and/or injured because the Ads could desperately use an offensive boost right now.
