AHL Game Night 1/13: Sharks at Falcons
Submitted by pete on January 13, 2007 - 21:57Officially in free fall.
WOR-4
SPR-2
Karri Ramo allowed 4 goals on 28 shots before leaving the game for Jonathan Boutin with a little over 10 minutes left in the game. Boutin stopped 2 of 2 shots faced. Daniel Corso had 1 goal and 1 assist and was named second star of the game. Sylvain Dufresne had the other Falcons goal while David Spina and Andy Rogers had individual assists.
The Falcons have now lost four in a row and six of their last seven games. With Norm Milley and Justin Keller out of the lineup they've been reduced to a one line team and other than David Spina none of the supporting cast has really stepped up to fill the void. Blair Jones? Zero shots on goal. Marek Kvapil? -3. Something's got to give.
First Period
SPR Dufresne, (2) (Spina, Corso), 12:07
Second Period
WOR Darche, (25) (Mink, Stafford), 9:02
WOR Leisenring, (1) (Bernier), 18:02
Third Period
WOR Leisenring, (2) (Prudden), 0:45 (SH)
WOR Kaspar, (3) (Prudden, Leisenring), 8:32
SPR Corso, (8) (Rogers), 11:12

Kvapil to Be Offered Contract
Submitted by pete on August 1, 2005 - 18:17Boltprospects has learned that, true to speculation, the Tampa Bay Lightning do intend to extend 2005 6th round pick Marek Kvapil a contract offer.
Kvapil, who turned 20 in January, is a talented Czech forward who put up solid numbers on a woeful Saginaw team in the OHL this season. Expect him to be given every opportunity to make the Springfield Falcons given the team's unfortunate lack of speed and skill up front last season.

Marek Kvapil
Submitted by pete on July 30, 2005 - 16:17With pick 163 in the 6th round the Lightning selected RW Marek Kvapil out of Saginaw in the OHL. The 5'11" 172 lbs. Czech winger is an overage selection and at 20 years old will probably be suiting up for the Springfield Falcons or Johnstown Chiefs next season. ]In 53 games for Saginaw Kvapil notched 25 goals and 62 points with 14 PIMs.[/url] Pretty good for playing on a team that had the third worst record in the OHL.
