Mississauga 5 @ Brampton 0
Chris Lawrence had an assist in the IceDogs win and also finished plus-2. A relatively quiet night for Lawrence considering his recent hot streak.
Erie 2 @ Owen Sound 7
Do you criticize Kevin Beech for letting in 7 goals, or praise him for making 72 saves? Judging from the fact he was named the game's third star as the visiting goalie, it's the latter. It also turns out Beech was the "lucky" goalie to be in net when Marek Bartanus finally scored. Bartanus had a goal and was plus-2. Bartanus had gone 24 games without scoring a goal. It was his fifth of the year.
Vancouver 1 @ Prince George 3
Vladimir Mihalik was scoreless and plus-2 with 4 PIM as Prince George beat Vancouver 3-1 Friday. Mihalik had tripping and holding calls against him.
Kelowna 5 @ Everett 6 (Shootout)
Dane Crowley was plus-1 and scoreless for the Silvertips in their 6-5 home shootout win over Kelowna.
Chris Lawrence had an off night, but Mississauga was able to get a road win in Sudbury, 3-2 over the Wolves. Lawrence went scoreless, breaking his 9 game point streak. He was also minus-1. The end of the season can't come soon enough for last-place Erie. They are consistently giving up 45 or more shots and lately have been doing well to allow fewer than 5 goals a game. Kevin Beech was given the night off tonight, getting a bench seat for Erie's 7-2 home loss to Sault Ste. Marie.
In the WHL, a night after beating the Winter Hawks 9-0, Prince George defeated Portland 6-2. Vladimir Mihalik scored his sixth goal of the year - a second period marker that turned out to be the game winner. He was also plus-2.

As big as a house, and I'm not referring to Alexander Kharitonov's, well, you know...
So much for Kevin Beech’s hot streak. Beech made 35 saves in Saginaw tonight, but unfortunately also let in 9 goals. The Spirit had 44 shots on Erie in the 9-0 win. That's 19 goals against for Erie in the last two games.
Chris Lawrence and Mississauga returned to their winning ways, defeating Sarnia at home 8-6. Lawrence extended his point streak to 8 games with a goal. He also had a plus-1 rating. Mississauga allowed 4 third period goals to turn a blowout into a close game before adding an empty netter.

In the WHL, Prince George won their fourth straight, 6-5 over Kamloops in overtime. Vladimir Mihalik had an assist, an even rating, and 2 PIM. Mihalik was on the ice for the overtime winner by Sharks first rounder Devin Setoguchi - acquired by the Cougars earlier this year.
Dane Crowley and Everett were at home against Chilliwack and beat the Bruins 5-2. Crowley was scoreless and even.
After earning first star for making 56 saves and 7 shootout stops in a 3-2 win in Windsor Thursday night, Kevin Beech was given the night off as his backup, Jonathan Laniel, got the nod for the Otters in Plymouth. Now, facing 58 shots, as Beech did Thursday, looks like a drop in the bucket compared to the 72 shots Laniel faced. That's right, 72. Laniel managed to stop 62 of them as the Otters were harpooned by the Whalers 10-1. The Otters managed 23 shots for the game - the same amount the Whalers put up in the third period.

The Tri-City Americans did the unthinkable, shutting out Everett and Dane Crowley 2-0. Carey Price, the Canadiens first round draft pick from 2005, earned the shutout. Crowley was even for the game with no PIM. The game featured a 5 on 5 brawl in the closing seconds of the game.
The Everett Herald reports:
First, with six seconds remaining, two of the key parties from Wednesday's fracas between the two clubs (4-1 Everett win) - Everett's Kyle Beach, who received a double minor for checking from behind, and Tri-City's Colton Yellow Horn, who was on the receiving end of that hit - got into an altercation.
Then with three seconds remaining the Americans began a brawl, starting three separate fights simultaneously off the faceoff. To prevent further commotion the final three seconds of the game were run off without the teams on the ice.
Dane Crowley continued his point-per-game pace since being traded to Everett when he earned an assist in the Silvertips' 4-1 win over Tri-City Wednesday night. Crowley now has 8 points in 8 games with Everett. He was plus-2 Wednesday night, which raises his plus/minus ranking with the 'Tips to plus-14.
