The Rocket scored twice in the third period, including an empty netter, to clinch a win in New Brunswick. Barberio extended his points streak to three games with his assist. The Wildcats are 8-4-0-1 on the year.

Sarnia’s Jordan Hill (undrafted) broke a 2-2 tie with a power play goal midway through the third period.

Thirteen goals, yet our two Lightning prospects failed to register a point. This was the third straight scoreless game for Panik, who’s in a bit of a slump.

Barberio scored his first goal of the year to open the scoring, and from there the onslaught started for Moncton. Barberio, who is starting to heat up, led the team in shots on goal with seven.

Sarnia notched a big win on Windsor ice when they scored with just under two minutes left to finally take the lead for good in this back-and-forth game.

Doug Gilmour's Frontenacs swept the home-and-home series this weekend with Ottawa. Sointu had given Ottawa a brief 1-0 lead early in the first. Gilmour, aka "Killer," began coaching Kingston mid-way through last season.

Hutchings has a five game point streak in which he’s scored eight points. He has three goals in his last two games. Erie, who outshot Barrie 46-40, misses goalie Jaroslav Janus, who remains with the Norfolk Admirals on a tryout contract.

Ashton was kicked out at 3:58 of the first period after a checking-from-behind major penalty. His four game goal streak was snapped.

Moncton nearly hit double-digits, but Barberio didn’t figure in the scoring for the Wildcats. He’s off to a bit of a slow start this year after accumulating 45 points (15 goals) in 66 games last year. A lot is expected of Barberio this season, not the least of which is an NHL contract at season’s end depending on his play.

Sointu scored his first OHL goal late in the third, but it wasn’t enough to keep the red-hot and conference-leading Greyhounds from winning their fifth straight to start the season. Kyle DeCoste did not play for the Soo. It’s possible he was suspended for his match penalty in the previous game.

After getting pulled in his previous outing, Zador watched from the bench as his back-up, Kevin Ballie, stopped 24 of 28 shots.

Moncton moved to 2-0 with Barberio in the lineup – both shootout victories. They are 3-1 overall. Cape Breton’s Olivier Roy (Oilers) streak of 24 straight shootout saves was broken. He stopped 10 of 11 in this shootout (0/14 last year, 0/10 this year). Barberio did not participate in the shootout. His assist - his first point of the year - came on the power play in the first period. He had 45 points in 66 games last season.
