Johnstown Chiefs
Game Night 1/7: Bombers at Chiefs
Submitted by pete on January 7, 2006 - 21:48To complete the trifecta of Lightning organization teams giving away leads today...
DAY-4
JHN-3 (SO)
This was the first of a key set of 4 straight game against Dayton for the Chiefs. Johnstown is hovering just below .500 in a pack with about 5 or 6 other teams vying for the bottom tier of playoff spots in the conference. Dayton is dead last in the division trailing the pack, so this is potentially a good springboard in the standings for the Chiefs. That's why tonight's result is so disappointing.
Morgan Cey made 31 saves on 34 shots before taking the shootout loss. Adam Henrich chipped in 1G and 1A. "The Mayor", Brady Greco, had the game's opening goal assisted by Brandon Elliot.

Game Night 1/6: Royals at Chiefs
Submitted by pete on January 6, 2006 - 22:36The Chiefs were game even without Rowe and Kelly, but Reading got the timely goal.
REA-4
JHN-3
Jonathan Boutin allowed 4 goals on just 25 shots faced to take the loss. Point blank: he got outplayed by Fukufuji. It's imperative Jonathan keep his level of play consistent if he wants to challenge Eklund and/or Coleman for an AHL job. Gerard Dicaire and Brandon Elliot had assists for the Chiefs.

Game Night 12/31: Inferno at Chiefs
Submitted by pete on December 31, 2005 - 20:56Randy Rowe is back, and so are the Chiefs.
COL-4
JHN-7
Randy Rowe led the way for the Chiefs potting a New Year's Eve hat trick. He wasn't the high man in points, however, as Doug Andress had an outstanding 5 helpers in the contest. Much maligned Lightning prospect Adam Henrich also had an outstanding game potting two goals. All-star Jonathan Boutin, fortunately, didn't have to be as outstanding as last night stopping 31 of 35 for the win.

TRE-1
Jonathan Boutin made a brilliant 42 saves on 43 shots faced to carry Johnstown to the victory. Only a late Scott Bertoli goal with under three minutes left in the game managed to beat the ex-Quebec Rampart netminder.

Boutin An All-Star
Submitted by pete on December 30, 2005 - 23:26Lightning goaltending prospect Jonathan Boutin has been named to the ECHL's American Conference All-Star team. The rookie netminder has been amongst the league leaders in save percentage and shutouts throughout the season, showing the promise that prompted the Tampa Bay Lightning to select him in the 3rd round of the 2003 Entry Draft. Boutin was the lone Johnstown Chief named to the team. The ECHL All-Star Game will take place January 25th in Fresno, CA.
