Even after a great week from Kristofer Westblom and no Sunday game, Jung got the start against the (pre-game) 5-1-1-1 Chiefs and nearly pulled off a win while earning Third Star honors. Jung had good numbers against the Chiefs last season.

Strong nights for Helenius, Crowley, and Tyrell in leading their respective teams to wins.

Mitch Fadden notched his fourth multi-point game of the year as Lethbridge dominated the Raiders in shots-on-goal, 28-9. Despite disparity in shots, it took Fadden’s power play goal at the 15:28 mark of the third period to break a 2-2 tie. The ‘Canes added an empty netter in the final minute to give the game its final score. Fadden is now tied for second in the league in goals (6) and third in points (11).

The Hitmen are now 8-1-0-0 on the year after breaking open a close game in the second period and defeating the 1-6-0-0 Cougars in Prince George, 5-3.

The afternoon BCHL game between Merritt and Victoria was canceled because Merritt was traveling from Powell River and the morning ferry to Victoria was not running.

Riku Helenius and Dana Tyrell had strong showings this weekend, to say nothing of WHL goals and points leader Mitch Fadden.
