After a five game point streak to start the season, Fadden has gone two games with no points. He was slated to move off of a line with 06-07 91-point scorer Zach Boychuk and onto a line with Yashar Farmanara, who came to Lethbridge with Fadden from Seattle two seasons ago. Boychuk and Fadden both have 9 points this year.
Everett Silvertips 5 @ Portland Winter Hawks 3
D Dane Crowley, EVT: 0-0-0, E, 6 PIM
Everett and Portland traded road wins to start the weekend. Crowley had minor and double-minor penalties for roughing.
Swift Current Broncos 6 @ Prince George Cougars 1
C/W Dana Tyrell, PG: 0-0-0, -1, 0 PIM
The Cougars are now 1-5-0-0 on the year and get to play WHL powerhouse Calgary Sunday.
Kelowna Rockets 4 @ Seattle Thunderbirds 3 (SO)

Helenius got his first night-off of the season as Seattle, somewhat remarkably, lost their 12th shootout in a row.

Seattle Thunderbirds 4 @ Kelowna Rockets 1
G Riku Helenius, SEA: Win, 18 saves on 19 shots
G Torrie Jung, KEL: Loss, 20 saves on 23 shots
Helenius and Seattle got the better of Jung and Kelowna in the first of a home-and-home set between the Thunderbirds and Rockets. The teams play again tonight (Saturday) in Seattle. Helenius's 1.62 Goals Against Average is tops in the WHL among goalies playing more than one game. His .922 save percentage is top-5.

Fadden scored the game’s first two goals but Lethbridge blew a 4-0 lead late. Fadden is 3-2-5 in 3 games to start the year.
Kelowna Rockets 6 @ Everett Silvertips 4
G Torrie Jung, KEL: Win, 31 saves on 35 shots
D Dane Crowley, EVT: 0-1-1, -2, 0 PIM
Kelowna was badly outshot, 35-21. Crowley had a power play assist in his 2007-2008 debut for Everett.

D Michael Ward, LEW: 0-1-1, E, 2 PIM, 1 SOG
Ward’s assist came on the power play. I watched the third period of this game on Teles, and Ward played significant minutes, including PP, PK, and was on the ice at the end of the game with the goalie pulled. He also had a good rush and two solid hits in the third. Several Q games appear to be available to view for free via www.lhjmq.qc.ca.

Seattle Thunderbirds 2 @ Kamloops Blazers 3 (OT)
G Riku Helenius, SEA: OTL, 24 saves on 27 shots
Game Notes: Helenius’s first regular season game in North America was looking strong as he had a shutout through the first half of the game, but the T-Birds couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead and fell in overtime, 3-2 in Kamloops. Helenius is wearing No. 30 for Seattle.
Lethbridge Hurricanes 2 @ Medicine Hat Tigers 4
C Mitch Fadden, LET: 0-1-1, +1, 0 PIM
Game Notes: With his secondary assist, Fadden helped Lethbridge to an early 2-1 lead but the Hurricanes couldn’t hang on and dropped the second of a home-and-home series with the Tigers. The Hurricanes won on Friday. Fadden has a goal and an assist in two games this year.
