Vermont was shutout in their season opener by Minnesota as Colorado prospect Kent Patterson picked up the shutout. Florida Panther prospect Nick Bjugstad, the 19th overall pick in 2010, had two goals for the Gophers and Nashville prospect Zach Budish had a goal and two assists in the game.

Vermont gave a gallant effort to stay alive in the HEAST Tournament tying the game at the 16:26 mark of the third period. However, the Wildcats answered right back at 17:00 as senior, Mike Sislo (undrafted) scored the eventual game and series winner.

Vermont finishes the season with a (8-20-8) record. Marshall, a junior, recorded a career high in goals with three this season and equaled last seasons total of five points. He finished the season with three points in his last four games.

In his three year career at Vermont, Marshall has played 84 games compiling five goals and nine assists for 14 points.
