Lightning prospect Luca Cunti took a first step in salvaging an otherwise lost season making his USHL debut last night with the Chicago Steel. Cunti recorded an assist and was +1 in his debut as Chicago was victorious 6-3 over Green Bay.

Chicago and Green Bay play again tonight in Chicago for the 2nd half of the home-and-home series.

According to Kevin Allenspach of the St. Cloud Times, Lightning prospect Luca Cunti has informed the team he is going to leave school after waiting for clearance to play for the entire Fall semester of school. Cunti will now likely join Chicago of the USHL before weighing his other options which may include returning to SCSU next Fall, but early indications are that scenario is unlikely.
