AHL Game Night 3/9: Pirates at Falcons

Gerald Coleman gets some small measure of revenge.

Karri Ramo allowed 4 goals on 34 shots in the loss. Daniel Corso and PJ Atherton had the Falcons goals. Individual assists belonged to Matt Smaby, Norm Milley, Dan Cavanaugh and Justin Keller. Tonight's game turned on a 5 minute high sticking penalty in the second period on Marek Kvapil which Portland cashed in on twice to assume a lead they never relenquished the rest of the way.

ECHL Game Night 3/9: Nailer at Chiefs

Johnstown gets a critical victory.

Morgan Cey only had to stop 14 shots in the game as Johnstown's defense had perhaps its best night of the season. Dimitri Tarabrin had a strong 2 goal and 2 assist night while Grant Jacobsen added 2 goals and 1 assist. Geoff Waugh had the other Chiefs goal and added an assist. Jean Desrochers and Andrew Martens each had a pair of helpers and Gus Katsuras and Maxime Boisclair chipped in individual assists.

The Johnstown win, coupled with a Toledo loss, puts the Chiefs just 1 point out of a playoff spot.

Linkopings/Lulea Game Two

In game two of their opening round playoff series, Linkopings captured a 2-0 lead defeating Lulea 3-2. Andreas Holmqvist remained white hot scoring a goal and adding 2 penalty minutes in the game. Game Three is set for Saturday.

CHL Game Night: 3/7

Mississauga 3 @ Belleville 2
Chris Lawrence did not register a point, but Mississauga returned to their winning ways with a 3-2 win in Belleville. Lawrence had an even rating and a minor penalty, but also had an isolated 10 minute misconduct in the first period.

NHL Game Night 3/7: Lightning at Oilers

Back on track.

Marc Denis gave the Lightning just what they needed stopping 29 of 30 shots faced. Vincent Lecavalier led the way with a pair of goals while Vaclav Prospal had 1 goal and 1 assist. Martin St. Louis had a pair of helpers and Brad Richards, Dan Boyle and Doug Janik each had individual assists.

The Lightning climb back into a tie for the Southeast Division lead at 80 points with Atlanta holding a game in hand.
