Syracuse got off to a slow start and never quite recovered.
The Crunch allowed a pair of first-period goals and didn’t find the back of the net until they pulled the goalie for an extra attacker in the final minutes, as Syracuse fell to the Utica Comets, 3-1, at the Onondaga County War Memorial Friday.
For Crunch head coach Rob Zettler, his team didn’t move the puck well, which led to not being able to attack with speed.
“We came out flat to start, and there was some life in the second and third period, but the start really hurt us,” Zettler said. “We were flat for whatever reason and we weren’t moving pucks out well, and they came out strong and were up 2-0 early.”
