The failure to protect leads late in games has been an ugly fault that has cropped up from time to time for Norfolk this season. Tonight, Springfield broke through with less than 3 minutes to go in the game, eventually robbing Norfolk of a point in the standings. As a consequence, Hershey claimed second place in the East Division outright. That's why every point is so precious: the Admirals don't want to have to go into Giant Center for Game 1 and 2 in the playoffs against the Bears. That's rough duty considering how much playoff experience Hershey would have in a hypothetical playoff series, and that's why you can't leave points on the table. You have to finish games off late.
