Recently recalled defenseman Doug O'Brien scored the game winning goal tonight in Springfield's 4-3 OT triumph against Worcester. The Newfoundland born blueliner's sudden death talley capped a remarkable comeback that saw the Falcons crawl out of a 2-0 first period deficit to defeat their Atlantic Division rival.

I know this news is a few days old, but Springfield Falcon center and Lightning depth player Craig Darby has been named by the AHL as the captain of the PlanetUSA team for the league's upcoming 2005 All-Star Classic in February. For more information, see the Falcon press release here.
