We continue our Bolt Prospect of the Week award, an honor (virtually) given to one Tampa Bay Lightning prospect for his recent contributions on and off the ice.
The Bolt Prospect of the Week for November 24, 2014 is … Adam Erne, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL – Canada).
The Lightning have a key ingredient to their future success stowed away in Quebec City.
Adam Erne, one of the few true power forward prospects in the system, is too young for the AHL so the Lightning sent him back to juniors to wreak havoc on his fellow teenagers, which he is doing.
The Lightning are a smallish skill club known for their speed and tenacity. Erne (6-1, 218) will provide more size in the lineup to balance out the likes of Tyler Johnson and Jonathan Drouin. He has enough skill, however, to be a prime contributor on any line rather than a complementary player whose sole role is to win wall battles and create space.
