NHL Network to televise 2008 World Junior Championships

New York, NY -- NHL Network, the first national network dedicated entirely to hockey, today announced it has secured the exclusive U.S. rights to the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic, Dec. 26, 2007 – Jan. 5, 2008. The upcoming tournament marks the first time the World Junior Championship will be telecast live on NHL Network in the United States. NHL Network in the U.S. will televise live coverage of the entire medal round of the 2008 World Junior Championship, including both quarterfinal games, both semifinal contests, the bronze-medal game and the gold-medal game. All games will be televised in HD and will receive at least one primetime re-air on the network.

Kevin Quick had one assist in the first of two intrasquad scrimmage games on Sunday at USA Hockey’s 2007 National Junior Evalation Camp in Lake Placid. Quick played on the USA Blue team which lost a squeaker to the USA White team 7-6 on Sunday.

USA Blue played USA White again Monday as a warmup prior to games with Finland and Sweden starting Tuesday. Team White beat Team Blue 4-3. The Game Boxscore hasn't been posted yet for the Monday game but you can check out a blog about the game at NHL.com.

Tampa Bay Lightning Assistant General Manager Claude Loiselle will serve as General Manager of the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals, it was announced by Lightning Executive Vice President & General Manager Jay Feaster.

:P Interesting perspective agent Mark Gandler has.......

Mark Gandler, the agent who represents those players, says Russia is an attractive option for "young, vibrant talent which is not properly treated (by NHL teams)."

Feaster is also quoted about R2 but this paragraph is the one takes the cake IMO....

That Artukhin, Grebeshkov and Bergenheim are Gandler's clients is just a coincidence, the agent said from his New Jersey office. He vehemently denies the rumour that he was getting a cut from Russian league clubs to deliver them NHL players.
