The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Kingston Frontenacs forward Radek Smolenak
is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday March 12 after scoring six goals and eight points in three games last week.
Smolenak started the week with two goals in a 5-4 win over the Mississauga IceDogs on March 8. He added a goal in a 5-2 win over the Barrie Colts on March 10 and was the first star after scoring two goals and three assists in a 6-4 win over the Toronto St. Michael's Majors on March 12. The three-win weekend clinched home ice advantage for the Frontenacs in the first round of the OHL playoffs.
Smolenak, a 19-year-old native of Prague, leads the Frontenacs with 42 goals and has 40 assists for 82 points in 61 games this season.
