San Francisco Bulls 2 @ Alaska Aces 3
F Nate Thompson , AK: 0-0-0, E, 3 SOG, 2 PIM (boarding)
Season totals: 7 GP, 0-5-5, E, 12 PIM
Alaska completed a weekend sweep of the new San Francisco franchise, this time settling into a three-goal lead by the early second period before the Bulls regrouped and made it close in the final minute of the same frame. The Aces held on, though, despite San Francisco playing an intense third period during which the Bulls carried the bulk of play trying to stave off a third-consecutive defeat. The Bulls actually outshot the Aces in the third period but Alaksa held a sizable shot advantage, 31 to 18, for the game. Brandon Dubinsky, fresh off a three-goal, four-point night, again led the way offensively for Alaska with another multi-point effort (1 G, 1 A, 3 SOG). However, Nate Thompson, who likewise had a highly productive previous game, had a pretty quiet afternoon aside from managing several shots on goal and taking another trek to the penalty box. The Aces (5-2-0), now winners of four straight games, will leave the friendly confines of home and begin a five-game road trip on Saturday night against the Pacific division-leading Stockton Thunder (4-1-1).
