Veteran ECHL goaltender Mike Brodeur stood on his head tonight, stopping 46 of 46 Florida Everblade shots through both regulation and overtime. But the punchless Lynx offense provided no support for Brodeur, and the Lynx lost the first of two games in Estero in a shootout 1-0. The Lynx only managed 16 shots through 4 periods: 2 in first, 5 in second, 5 in the third, and 4 in overtime. Lightning prospect forward Chris Lawrence was the first Lynx shooter in the shootout, but none of the Augusta shooters converted against undrafted Clarkson University product David Leggio.
Augusta falls to 5-4-1-1 and tomorrow night's rematch against the Florida Everblades and Minnesota Wild prospect goaltender Anton Khudobin looks bleak unless the Lynx can discover some offensive punch.
