The Canadian Hockey League announced yesterday that Lightning prospect Torrie Jung [4] of the Kelowna Rockets is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting three wins with a 1.00 goals against average and .960 save percentage in three games last week.
The 18-year-old native of Nanaimo, BC made 33 saves in a 4-1 win over the Chilliwack Bruins on New Year’s Eve and followed up with 17 saves in a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Giants on Wednesday. He finished the week with 22 saves in a 6-1 win over the Kamloops Blazers on Sunday. Jung improved to 8-5-0-3 on the season with a 2.45 goals against average and .902 save percentage in 18 games.
Jung was taken in the seventh round (183rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Lightning.
