After sitting out the entire opening round of the Russian Superleague playoffs, Dimitri Kazionov helped his club make a splash in the league quarterfinals with 1 goal and 3 points in 4 games last week. In Game One, Kazionov assisted on Ak Bars' third goal in a 3-1 series opening victory over Khimik. The 2002 4th round pick then scored the game opening goal and later added a power play assist in Game Two to stake his team to an early series 2-0 lead. Kazan went on to dispense with 8th seed Khimik in 4 games to advance to the Superleague semifinals where they will play CSKA.
