I'll take a point against these guys as opposed to the 4-5 goal shellackings they've been handing Springfield all season. PRO-3 SPR-2 (OT) More on the flip. I don't want to steal too much page space from the rest of the night's stories.

[b]QMJHL[/b] Mark Tobin scored his 26th goal of the season, added a helper, had 7 shots on goal and 8 hits. He was also named first star of the game. Unfortunately, it came in defeat 4-2 at the hands of Baie-Comeau. [b]OHL[/b] Marek Bartanus was -2 as Owen Sound fell to London 3-1. [b]WHL[/b] Vladimir Mihalik had an assist and was +1 but Red Deer lost 5-3 to Regina.

Linkopings fell 4-3 to Lulea in double overtime in the opening game of their Elitserien playoff series today. Fredrik Norrena stopped 36 of 40 shots faced in 98 minutes of hockey. Shane Willis scored the game opening goal for Linkopings in the first period.

Anton But, 49 GP, 16-23-39, 26 PIM, (+11) Alexei Glukhov, 45 GP, 2-14-16, 70 PIM, (-2) Alexander Polushin, 42 GP, 8-5-13, 14 PIM, (-1) Albert Vishnyakov, 48 GP, 9-3-12, 78 PIM, (E) Nikita Alexeev, 40 GP, 6-4-10, 14 PIM, (-3) Dimitry Kazionov, 40 GP, 2-5-7, 42 PIM (-11) Vasily Koshechkin, 19-13-6, 1.59 GAA, .934 sv%, 10 SO Anton But's line was the second most productive in the Superleague combining for a total of 25 goals during the regular season. Alexei Morozov's line with Kazan was the best scoring 34 goals in total. But finished tied for 7th in the league in points, 9th in goals and 10th in assists, Vasily Koshechkin finished 2nd in the Superleague in GAA, save percentage and shutouts and was named the best "rookie" goaltender in the league.

[b]QMJHL[/b] Quebec topped Rimouski 5-4 in a shootout. Mark Tobin was scoreless, +1, had 5 shots on goal and threw 3 hits. [b]OHL[/b] Kevin Beech and Sudbury defeated Toronto in a shootout 5-4. Beech stopped 26 of 30 during play before stopping 2 of 4 in the penalty shots. Chris Lawrence had his 21st goal of the season and a helper, but Mississauga fell 5-4 in overtime to Belleville. Lawrence's 18 goals since joining the Ice Dogs equals the totals from his first two seasons in the OHL combined. The prodigal son, Marek Bartanus, finally returned from time off due to a concussion but was a non-factor in Owen Sound's 4-3 loss to London. He was even with 0 shots on goal. Radek Smolenak scored his 39th goal of the season as Kingston crushed Barrie 5-2. [b]WHL[/b] Vladmir Mihalik was scoreless, shotless and even as Red Deer defeated Medicine Hat 3-2. Justin Keller was held scoreless but Kelowna defeated Seattle 3-2. Blair Jones scored his 32nd goal of the season, shorthanded, and added an assist but Moose Jaw fell hard to Swift Current 6-3.
