Reid Reassigned to Springfield

According to Erik Erlendsson of the Trib, RW Darren Reid has been reassigned to Springfield of the AHL. Also, veteran Chris Dingman has been placed on waivers and will be reassigned to Springfield on Friday if there are no takers. Also, defenseman Andy Rogers is in town from Prince George of the WHL to have his ailing ankle examined by team doctors. Rogers has been hobbled all season, which partly explains the lack of offensive development in his game after a Traverse City tournament where he led all Lightning prospects in scoring.

WJC Game 4: USA vs. Finland

Finland was more than game tonight against tournament favorite USA going down in a narrow defeat 6-5 to fall to 0-2 on the tournament. Finland roared back from a 6-3 deficit in the 3rd period to get the game within striking distance before failing to get the tying goal with the extra attacker on. Prospect Karri Ramo made his first appearance of the tournament facing a 43 shot barrage and making 37 saves in the contest.
