Game Day 3/5: Growl at Chiefs

I don't care if there are extra r's in Greenville's name. Stupidest team name in professional sports, bar none. GRE-3 JHN-2 Johnstown coughed up a third period lead to come away empty handed. Morgan Cey stopped 38 of 41 shots faced in the loss. Dennis Packard scored both goals for the Chiefs on a pair of primary helpers by Zbynek Hrdel. Further complicating the Springfield Falcons situation on a day that saw Nick Tarnasky and Darren Reid recalled to Tampa, they sent left wing Dennis Packard down to Johnstown.

Game Day 3/5: Falcons at Pirates

No prayer. SPR-2 POR-6 With Tarnasky and Reid headed to join the big club the Falcons had to play this game a man short. Gerald Coleman was hung out to dry allowing 6 goals on 37 shots faced. The Falcons were outshot 37 to 21 for the game. Doug O'Brien had a goal assisted by the Czech/Slovak connection Blatny and Kvapil. Reemerging from the wilderness, David Spina also scored his 8th of the season in garbage time. Game sheet from TheAHL.com.
