Scouting Report

Scouting Comments:

"Smallish winger is not the biggest, fastest, or most skilled prospect, but is a very honest player who hustles his ass off and will never cheat you on effort. Shows a keen awareness all over the ice - knows linemates' position on ice without having to look. Has instant chemistry with any linemates. Makes effective moves in tight on the rush. Fast crossovers generate speed out of his cuts - gains separation easily. Pulls off the offensive zone cycle into the high slot to create opportunities. Despite his size, shows a willingness to drive into coverage. Hard to strip the puck off him - uses his body to protect it well. Effective on the PP and understands passing angles. Creatively switches hands on stick to protect the puck with driving wide. Strong backchecker comes down deep to get into passing lanes. Terrific work ethic in all three zones." - Red Line Report

Darby Named AHL All-Star Captain

I know this news is a few days old, but Springfield Falcon center and Lightning depth player Craig Darby has been named by the AHL as the captain of the PlanetUSA team for the league's upcoming 2005 All-Star Classic in February.
