Partly as a consequence of Artyukhin and Tarnasky being reassigned to Springfield, LW/C Adam Henrich has been reassigned to Johnstown of the ECHL. Henrich recorded an assist in last night's victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack, but that evidently was not enough to spare him the humbling experience of demotion. Henrich, a former 2002 2nd round pick, has the potential to blossom into a power forward in the professional ranks but has been chastized for a poor work ethic and an unwillingness to play in high traffic areas since his Springfield debut last season.

Fredrik Norrena has lost back to back games for the first time this season. Today, Linkopings lost to Timra 2-0 on the strength of a Jussi Tarvainen shutout. Norrena stopped 27 of 29 shots in the loss. His record now falls to 8-2-1. Andreas Holmqvist was moved down to Linkopings' fourth pairing for the game.

Meanwhile, on the Isle of Elba...

Jean-Francois Soucy notched an assist in Phoenix's season opening 4-2 victory over the Utah Grizzlies. The Roadrunners got a taste of Soucy's oft-hidden offensive capabilities in an intra-squad scrimmage which took place Wednesday just after Soucy's reassignment to Phoenix. In that game Soucy had a hat trick including the game-tying goal with just 35 seconds left.

Erik Erlendsson reports in the Trib that Evgeny Artyukhin and Nick Tarnasky have been sent down to Springfield of the AHL. The move is expected to be only a temporary measure to save cap room with the Lightning having a 4 days off until they play New Jersey Wednesday night. It is expected Tarnasky and Artyukhin will be recalled from Springfield at that time.
