Tuesday's Elitserien Scores

Lulea got their first win of the season today defeating Sodertalje 2-0. Lightning prospect Johan Harju had 2 penalty minutes in the game, a roughing minor gained in a four man altercation which involved former Lightning player Kristian Kudroc. The young forward played third line center in the game.

Andreas Holmqvist scored a power play goal on a two man advantage in Frolunda's 4-1 win over Linkopings.

28 Left in Admirals Camp

Norfolk has posted their current roster of 28 players remaining in Admirals camp. The roster obviously does not include forward Mathieu Darche who remains in Tampa Bay. Four non-contract tryout players remain on the roster: defenseman Brett Angel, and forwards Rob Klinkhammer, Justin Taylor, and Shawn Collymore.

Update:
I suppose Morgan Cey is technically a non-contract tryout player as well.

Monday's Superleague Score

Anton But was scoreless today in St. Petersburg's 2-1 win over Tver. Through 11 games But has 3 goals and 5 points so far this season.

It's Official: Lundin and Smaby Make the Team

According to the blog of Damian Crisdotero, who could hardly mask his enthusiasm for Matt Smaby making the team (and yes, that was sarcasm), the Lightning have made their final decision regarding their defensemen and both Matt Smaby and Mike Lundin have made the team. In addition, Crisdotero speculates Smaby and Lundin have passed Doug Janik on the depth chart and suggests the reason the Lightning did not re-assign Janik to Norfolk of the AHL was because the organization feared losing Janik on waivers (and it is a very good assumption they would have).

Another triumph for the allegedly broken down Lightning prospect system.

Three Clear Waivers, But Only Two Assigned to Norfolk

According to tampabaylightning.com, forward Kyle Wanvig and defenseman Bryce Lampman have been assigned to AHL Norfolk after clearing waivers. Winger Mathieu Darche also cleared waivers today, but he will remain with the Lightning as Tampa Bay's Andreas Karlsson is day-to-day with an abdominal injury.
