Lascek Left Off First Team QMJHL All-Stars

Right winger Stanislav Lascek had a fantastic season this year for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens by all accounts. In 64 games he had 47 goals, 88 assists, and 135 points, which was good enough for first on his team and second overall in the league to Quebec Remparts right winger Alexander Radulov (Nashville pick). Tonight, the QMJHL presented their 2005-06 season awards and named their First and Second Team all-stars. Radulov, who was also named QMJHL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, was named to the First Team on one wing, while Lascek's teammate and "Traverse City Lightning" member Maxime Boisclair was named to the other wing spot. Boisclair played 6 more games than Lascek and had 5 less points, but led the league with 70 goals. Lascek was named to the Second Team All-Stars, but perhaps the greater reward will be the NHL contract that's waiting for him after the QMJHL playoffs and hopefully the Memorial Cup.

Ouch

It's too bad that he was snubbed, but 70 goals is hard to compete with. What would be nicer would be contracts for both Lascek and Boisclair. Springfield definetely has room for a finisher.
