Sea Wolves Sign G Maxime Ouellet

The days of former Lightning prospect Morgan Cey may be numbered as the Canadian Press reported over the weekend that the Mississippi Sea Wolves have signed former NHL first round pick Maxime Ouellet. Ouellet has been playing in Europe this season.

"I'm really excited to be joining the Sea Wolves," Ouellet said after signing Friday. "I'm happy to be able to return to North America, and I'm looking forward to being a part of this team in the run for the playoffs".

The native of Beauport, Que., was drafted in the first round (22nd overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1999 NHL entry draft.

In 10 career NHL appearances with Philadelphia, Vancouver, and Washington, the six-foot-two, 195-pound goalie posted a record of 2-6-2 with a 3.07 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904.

In 206 AHL games with Hershey, Manitoba, Philadelphia and Portland, Ouellet was 81-88-26 with a 2.53 GAA and a .919 save percentage.
