MacDonald and Darche Waived by Lightning

TSN.ca is reporting that Tampa Bay Lightning forwards Craig MacDonald and Mathieu Darche were placed on waivers Monday. This seems to be the result of the return of Ryan Craig and Andreas Karlsson to the Lightning lineup following pre-season injuries to both players.

If both players clear waivers, this could be a big boon to the Norfolk Admiral offense.

Update: The St. Pete Times is reporting Matt Smaby will likely be sent down today.

Darche is Surprising

I'm pretty surprised about Darche being sent down. The only thing I can think of is that in Torts' mind his defensive zone coverage was not up to snuff. Still, I'd rather have Darche going into a gunfight than Karlsson.

Karlsson might be the

Karlsson might be the biggest waste of space going in a Bolts jersey the last few years if you ask me.

Re: Karlsson

He's not terrible, he's just warm milk. He doesn't do anything to kill you but he does precious little to help you either.

Count me in ...

Count me in the non-Karlson fan club also. I'd much rather see Darche's energy than Karlsson's warm milk. I sure hope Norfolk gets to see it though.

We Need the Help

While I am not disagreeing with any of the posters here, from a Norfolk point of view this is good news. We need scoring help in the worst kind of way. Darche and MacDonald could go a long way to elevating our offense. I would assume they would have to wait for the 48 hours, so we'll know Wednesday at noon.
