Sea Wolves Camp Opens

The long-awaited return of professional hockey to the Gulf Coast region takes another important step today with Mississippi Sea Wolves reporting this morning for team physicals. Around lunchtime, the team with board a bus enroute for Beaumont, TX for Friday's start of the 2007 Sea Wolves training camp.

The Sea Wolves will remain in the Lone Star state until next weekend, playing two exhibition games October 12 and 13 against the Texas Brahmas and the Austin Ice Bats. The team will return to Biloxi before heading to Tampa for more training before the season opener against the Florida Everblades on October 19.

Sea Wolves skipper Steffon Walby indicated camp would open with a roster of about 20 players with five to six more expected to join the team after the Norfolk Admirals trim their camp roster.

Single game tickets for the Sea Wolves home opener October 27 against Reading go on sale today at 10 am. A trip to see the Tampa Bay Lightning will be given away the night of the home opener.
