Lost in the shuffle of today's surprise sale announcement, the AHL released its 2007-2008 schedule. The Lightning's new farm team, the Norfolk Admirals, will start its season on the road against the Philadelphia Phantoms on October 5th. The Phantoms matchup kicks off the first of four games on the road which concludes with a fascinating October 14th matinee in Springfield against the Falcons. Norfolk's first home game is scheduled for October 19th when Binghamton comes to Norfolk for the first of back to back matchups at the Scope.
The full schedule can be found at TheAHL.com.

Road Trip!?!?
It'd cost me a little over $500 for airfare, 2 nights in a hotel and a rental car for the weekend of the 19th through the 21st to go see the Ads home openers against Binghamton. I might have to do it.
Come On Up
Pete,
We would love to see you in Norfolk. The Scope where the Admirals play is right downtown with many resturants and watering holes to go to. Right across from Scope is a very good sports bar called Baxter's. The folks who visited from Chicago gave it high marks.
You may want to check your airfares. At last report, Southwest Airlines had a one way, non stop from Norfolk to Tampa for $80.00.
If you do decide to come up let me know. I will pass the word to other ADs fans who post here as well as on Admiralszone.com.
Take care and keep up the good work. Chicago did not have a board like this and I really like this one.

Well, I'm coming from
Well, I'm coming from Atlanta, not Tampa, although you'd think that'd be cheaper.
An Oxymoron
One does not see the words logic and airfares in the same sentence. You would think that Atlanta being a major hub the fares would be cheaper.
Hey Pete
How come you never made it up here to Springfield ? Scoob in Springy.
It's a lot longer and more
It's a lot longer and more expensive trip than to go up to Norfolk. Not the best excuse, but it has the virtue of being true.
Estero for me that weekend
I wish I could afford to go to Norfolk that weekend but instead on Friday 10/19 I will be driving south to watch the SeaWolves open against the Everblades in Estero. A much cheaper trip that fits my current budget.
You guys all go have fun and report back to us!!
