Chiefs to Play in Johnstown Next Season

According to Mike Mastovich of the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, Johnstown Chiefs owner Jim Weber has received a new concessions revenue sharing plan from the Cambria County government which should allow the Chiefs to stay in Johnstown through the 2007-2008 season. Beyond 2007-2008 remains up in the air. A split of concessions may be enough for Weber to keep the team in Johnstown into the near future, but other scenarios could see the sale of the team to one of two NHL teams. Mastovich hints one of those teams would buy the team and move it in 2008-2009 to a new city where another rink is currently being built (speculated in internet rumors to be to suburban Philadelphia by the Flyers), while the other would try to keep the team in Johnstown and reevaluate after one year (presumably the Lightning).
