Bolt Prospects has learned that defenseman Kevin Quick has narrowed his college choices to Clarkson, Ohio State, Michigan, and Providence. Over the next few weeks, Quick will complete official visits to each campus and is targeting the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday break to announce his decision. Quick has returned to Salisbury Prep School in Salisbury, CT for his senior year, and the varsity team's 2006-2007 season should begin just after the Thanksgiving break. In the meantime, Quick is playing some extra games in Midget Major for the Neponset Valley River Rats located in Foxboro, MA. Quick debuted 13th on the current Bolt Prospects Top-25 list after being a 3rd round selection by the Lightning in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He is ranked 5th among Lightning prospective blueliners by Bolt Prospects behind Smaby, Mihalik, Rogers, and Egener.

He's got to be signable.

These aren't Ivy league schools here. If you went Ivy, Northwestern, Stanford etc. your degree would pretty much guarantee your fortune. He signs with any of these guys and his hockey career blows up, he'll have to get a real job. I think a decent rookie signing package could get him in here sooner rather than later. He's got too much to lose taking those schools over a good contract offer.

I'd Be Alright With Michigan

Michigan would be a good choice for his hockey development and it's a pretty good school academically.
