Lawrence Has Head Injury
The Mississauga News is reporting Chris Lawrence was held out of last night's Ice Dogs game as a precautionary measure. He has a minor head injury. No further information was given.
According to the Owen Sound Sun-Times, Marek Bartanus was held out of the Attack's game last night due to an "undisclosed injury."
Bartanus has drawn rave reviews for his play so far for the 7-1-0-1 Attack. He is playing on a second line that's making life hard for the opposition.
The Sun-Times states the key to the unit may be Bartanus' improved play. After struggling in his first OHL season, the sophomore left-winger is playing with a newfound confidence. A lot of that is coming from the success his line is having.
"We're always making the pass and we seem to be playing a little like European hockey," said Bartanus, who has three goals and six assists this season.
"We're getting a lot of scoring opportunities."
The Attack's red-hot second line is creating mismatches for the opposition and that makes Owen Sound a tough team to defend against. "It creates a huge problem for other teams trying to shut us down," said assistant coach David Bell.
"Marek is such a big body who can skate like the wind so he's the size and speed on the line. Josh [Bailey] is so creative and so dependable in our own end. And Scott [Tregunna] is just Mr. Steady. He's always in the right spot."
