Preseason Game Night 9/30: Lightning at Stars

Pretty disconcerting collapse from a 3-0 lead. TB-3 DAL-4 (OT) Marc Denis stopped 21 of 22 shots faced through 2 periods before giving way to Johan Holmqvist who allowed 3 goals on 15 shots faced for the loss. Ruslan Fedotenko led the way offensively in his first game back from injury with 2 assists. The Lightning goals were scored by Vaclav Prospal, Dimitry Afanasenkov and Tim Taylor. Individual helpers went to Vincent Lecavalier, Brad Richards, Nick Tarnasky and Eric Perrin. The Lightning were outshot 37 to 20 in the game and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Game sheet from NHL.com. Doug Janik played 24:48 of even hockey with 2 shots and 3 hits. Perrin played 12:11 of even hockey with 1 shot and 1 hit. He was also 42% on draws. Tarnasky played 7:30 and was +1 with 2 hits and 1 blocked shot.

Disconcerting - I have other descriptions....

Pete, you are kind with those words. My take, it's the third game that the bolt's have blown a lead with Holmqvist in net. He has been very much like the Johnny we knew last year. The second question is where did the boy's go? They took a nap after the 3rd goal. Teams loaded with rookie's and aging begin their fall from grace like this, not teams who we are expecting to compete for a shot at the cup. Let us hope that when the puck drops for real the fall aparts against, Dallas - 2 times, Montreal and Detroit in OT will not be the common scenario this year. Have they had a win on the road? The jury for this team is still out and will be until they can show us that they will compete for 60 minutes. Much like the Bucs the promise of preseason is past! Now the party starts for real and let's hope the result is not the same. PS: They stunk the joint out. My other thoughts are not printable.
