Preseason Game Night 9/20: Lightning at Capitals

It's always nice to put a beat down on the Capitals, even if it is preseason. TB-3 WSH-2 (OT) Marc Denis made an auspicious debut stopping 40 of 42 shots for the victory. Any worries about his play in the scrimmages were easily allayed tonight. Norm Milley went a long way towards sealing a 4th line job scoring a goal off assists by Rob DiMaio and Eric Perrin. In similar fashion to Denis, Vincent Lecavalier turned on the light switch following up his hat trick in the final scrimmage with 1 goal and 1 assist tonight, both on the power play which was 2 for 8 tonight. Andy Delmore and Filip Kuba chipped in helpers on Lecavalier's third period goal while Dan Boyle scored the overtime game winner. Doug Janik was -1 in 21:39 of ice time with 4 shots on goal, 1 hit and 2 blocked shots. Perrin was +1 in 15:05 with 3 shots on goal and 1 blocked shot. Milley played 13:43 and was +1 with 1 shot, 2 hits and 1 blocked shot. Mitch Fritz had 2 shots in 7:15 and was even.
