Nick Tarnasky, Iron Man

The Lightning always remain tight lipped about who did and did not perform well during fitness testing, but in the Trib today they have released the top results from the team's three mile run. Once again, Nick Tarnasky showed up in peak condition and claimed the fastest time, beating the next closest Lightning player by over a full minute. The final results were: 1.) Tarnasky, 2.) Marek Kvapil, 3.) Justin Keller, 4.) Cory Sarich. More: Crisdotero in the Times isn't afraid to name names and throw people under the bus. In the lap testing he calls out Nikita Alexeev, Luke Richardson, Doug Janik, Kvapil and Vaclav Prospal as the team's best performers. The "laggers" were Brandon Elliot and Marek Bartanus, both of whom may now face reassignment quickly. According to Crisdotero's column the team is planning to make cuts by Tuesday prior to a road trip for their first exhibition games. Also of note, Darren Reid's challenge for a job in Tampa may be in serious jeopardy. He may be held out of scrimmages beginning today due to a slight groin pull he suffered during fitness testing.
