Craig Signed

According to TSN.ca, former Springfield and Brandon (WHL) captain Ryan Craig has re-signed with the Lightning. Craig scored 15 goals in roughly half a season last year as a rookie in Tampa Bay. Craig is one of the current members of the Lightning expected to help fill the void left when Fredrik Modin was traded to Columbus.

sportsnet.ca is reporting

sportsnet.ca is reporting the contract is a two-way deal. Would that mean his NHL salary is league minimum?

Not necessarily. It just

Not necessarily. It just means he gets less money in the minors than he would in the NHL. I haven't seen the actual #s on this deal anywhere yet.

Still nothing reported

Still nothing reported anywhere about contract length but NHLPA says this year at $495,000 which was his QO. IMO the only reason Craig was given a 2-way is because of the new CBA's $90K cut off for having to clear waivers coming back to the NHL. If he makes NHL minimum in the AHL, he would have to clear waivers to come back up. We know he was asked for in a couple trade scenerios this year so I'm sure Feaster doesn't want to lose him.
