    QMJHL

Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3 @ Moncton Wildcats 2
    D Mark Barberio, Q: 0-1-1, +1, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
    Season Totals: 22 GP, 2-13-15, +4, 22 PIM

Moncton put themselves in a 3-0 hole and could never recover. Former Lightning prospect Michael Ward finished his season with Cape Breton last season after a trade from Lewiston. He was not offered a contract by Tampa Bay, but signed with Vancouver. The Canucks re-assigned him to Cape Breton, where as a co-captain he has 15 assists (0 goals) in 17 games so far this year. He had 17 points in 30 games with the Eagles after the trade last year; 17 in 35 with Lewiston.

    OHL

    Belleville Bulls 0 @ Brampton Battalion 3
RW Kyle DeCoste, BEL: 0-0-0, -2, 2 PIM (tripping)
    Season Totals: 21 GP, 4-4-8, E, 22 PIM
    With Bulls: 8 GP, 2-3-5, +2, 2 PIM
    With SSM: 13 GP, 2-1-3, -2, 20 PIM

DeCoste earned his first two penalty minutes as a Bull.

Erie Otters 2 @ Owen Sound Attack 3
G Jaroslav Janus, ERIE: Did not play.
    Season Totals: 6 GP, 3-2-1-0, 3.00 GAA, .915 sv%
    With Norfolk (AHL): 2 GP, 0-2-0, 1.52 GAA, .939 sv%

Erie is on a 0-2-2-0 streak. Janus got the night off.

    Guelph Storm 3 @ Windsor Spitfires 11
    C Richard Panik, WSR: 0-0-0, -2, 0 PIM
    Season Totals: 25 GP, 6-8-14, +11, 8 PIM

This is confusing. Panik was coming off a two goal game, his team scored 11, had six even strength goals, and somehow Panik goes without a point and has a team-worst minus-two rating.

    Kitchener Rangers 3 @ Ottawa 67’s 6
LW Matais Sointu, OTT: Did not play.
    Season Totals: 21 GP, 3-7-10, +7, 6 PIM

Ottawa is on a 5-0-1 streak and are now at .500 on the year.

    London Knights 4 @ Oshawa Generals 1
G Michael Zador, OSH: Did not play.
    Season Totals: 18 GP, 7-9-2-0, 3.45 GAA, .893 sv%, 1 SO

    Zador got the night off.

    Thud.

    NOR-2
    WOR-3

    First Period
WOR McCarthy, (2) (Zalewski, Mashinter), 18:08

    Second Period
    NOR Syroczynski, (3) (Smolenak), 16:11

WOR Curadeau, (1) (Groulx, Stalock), 4:12
NOR Jones, (5) (Smolenak, Graham), 16:01

Blair Jones was named the game's third star. That's 4 goals and 12 points in his last 10 games. You wonder if and when Jones will get an NHL shot.

Norfolk drops back below .500 and now must regroup back at home in Norfolk.

Strange. I had forgotten what a regulation loss feels like.

    TB-1
    CAR-3

Mike Smith allowed 3 goals on 27 shots for the loss.

    First Period
    TB 15:18, St Louis 5 (Foster, Lecavalier)(PP)

    Second Period
    CAR 2:35, Ruutu 6 (Whitney, Pitkanen)(PP)
CAR 13:46, Jokinen 6 (Corvo, LaRose)

    Third Period
CAR 15:37, LaRose 1 (Samsonov, Corvo)

It was a tough spot to be in, flying 5 hours cross country. The important thing is to now allow the loss to snowball. They have Atlanta tomorrow night and that's a game they really need to get two points out of.

Steve Downie had 1 shot and, oh my gosh, 7 hits in 15:01. He's really playing well, and tomorrow night's game against Atlanta will be his 82nd career NHL game, which graduates him from prospect status here on BP.

Zenon Konopka had 1 hit and was 78% on draws in 7:03.

Paul Szczechura had 1 shot in 12:33.

James Wright had 1 hit and 1 blocked shot in 12:18.

Victor Hedman was -2 in 22:45 and really got rocked on a hit trying to cross the opposing blueline on a rush. He seems a little rudderless at times without Matias Ohlund around.

NOR Fritz, (1) (Lawrence, Syroczynski), 14:48

    Third Period

That was not the debut Koshechkin probably wanted.

Johan Harju, Dynamo Moscow, 0-1-1, +2, 2 PIM, 1 SOG

Harju assisted on a late first period goal and was 78% on draws in 13:53.

    C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 1-0-1, +1, 0 PIM, 3 SOG
    Season Totals: 6 GP, 4-3-7, +2, 4 PIM

Killorn’s fourth goal of the year brought Harvard within a goal of St. Lawrence with a half period to go, but they couldn’t complete the comeback. Killorn’s line, which includes Michael Biega (undrafted) and Louis Leblanc (Canadiens) combined for 23 of Harvard’s 44 shots on goal in the game.
